Michigan 4-star RB commit runs wild in win over national powerhouse

St. Frances Academy (Maryland) handed national powerhouse IMG Academy (Florida) its first loss of the season Friday, and Michigan four-star running back commit Blake Corum was a major reason why.

The 5-foot-8, 193-pounder rushed for 180 yards and two scores in a 35-7 victory, eclipsing the 1,000-yard rushing mark in the process.

Corum is the 14th-ranked running back in the 2020 class, according to the 247Sports Composite. Meanwhile, St. Frances, which also has three other Michigan commits -- four-star linebcker Osman Savage, three-star linebacker Nikhai Hill-Green and three-star offensive lineman Micah Mazzccua -- improved to 7-1.

Below are some other top performances from Wolverines pledges last weekend.

Michigan currently has 24 commits in the 2020 class and two in the 2021 class. Their 2020 class is currently ranked ninth in the country and second in the Big Ten, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

3-star QB JD Johnson (Pinnacle HS, Arizona)

He completed 17 of 26 passes for 342 yards and four touchdowns for 7-1 Pinnacle in a 41-17 victory over Liberty.

Johnson, the No. 16 quarterback in the 2020 class, has thrown for 1,885 yards and 20 touchdowns this season to just two interceptions.

3-star RB Gaige Garcia (Southern Columbia, Pennsylvania)

Southern Columbia keeps rolling along at 9-0, and Garcia is a major reason why. He rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries in a 35-0 win.

Garcia is ranked as the No. 134 running back in the 2020 class.

3-star ATH Eamonn Dennis (Shrewsbury HS, Massachusetts)

The 5-foot-10, 173-pounder had a touchdown reception, a touchdown run and returned a kick for a score in a 58-26 win.

4-star WR AJ Henning (Lincoln-Way East HS, Illinois)

Henning had two rushing touchdowns and a 50-yard punt return touchdown in a 40-0 victory.

The Wolverines' top-ranked recruit in the 2020 class also committed to play in the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas on Jan. 5.

5-star QB J.J. McCarthy (Nazareth Academy, Illinois)

The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder completed 13 of 26 passes for 124 yards and a score in a 21-0 victory.

McCarthy is the No. 4 quarterback in the 2021 class and the No. 17 prospect overall.

3-star LB Cornell Wheeler (West Bloomfield)

The senior had seven tackles, including one for a loss in a 41-0 win over Oxford. He only played two quarters.

Wheeler is the No. 20 inside linebacker in the country.

3-star DE Kris Jenkins Jr. (Good Counsel, Maryland)

The son of former NFL defensive tackle Kris Jenkins had two sacks and returned a fumble for a touchdown in a 34-31 loss.

Jenkins Jr. is ranked No. 24 at his position in the 2020 class.

3-star TE Matthew Hibner (Lake Braddock, Virginia)

He had two catches for 70 yards and a score in 6-1 Lake Braddock's 56-27 win.

Hibner is the No. 26 tight end in the 2020 class.

4-star LB Kalel Mullings (Milton Academy, Massachusetts)

Mullings had an interception in the end zone in 5-0 Milton's 20-14 overtime victory.

The 6-foot-1, 220-pounder is the No. 13 outside linebacker in 2020.

4-star safety Makari Paige (West Bloomfield)

Paige only played the first half in the blowout win but still recorded five tackles and a pass breakup.

He is ranked as the No. 22 safety in the 2020 class.

3-star ATH William Mohan (Erasmus Hall, New York)

The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder had a sack in a 24-21 loss. He is ranked as the No. 443 prospect in 2020.
