Sergio Pettis’s upcoming bout with Ricardo Ramos is off.

MMA Fighting confirmed with sources that Pettis has been forced to withdraw from his bantamweight fight with Ramos that was scheduled for UFC Minneapolis on June 29, following an initial report by MMA Junkie.

A reason for Pettis’s withdrawal was not disclosed.

This was to be Pettis’s first fight of the year after a 2018 campaign that saw him go 1-2. He has lost back-to-back fights including his return to the 135-pound division against Rob Font in December. The 25-year-old Roufusport product is 8-5 in the UFC competing at bantamweight and flyweight, and 17-5 overall.

Ramos won his first three UFC bouts before losing via first-round TKO to Said Nurmagomedov in February. Just 23 years old, the Brazilian is currently 12-2 as a pro.

Pettis’s withdrawal has not been officially announced and it remains to be seen if UFC officials will seek a replacement opponent for Ramos two weeks away from fight night.

UFC Minneapolis takes place at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and the main card will air live on ESPN. In the heavyweight main event, Junior dos Santos faces Francis Ngannou.
