Police say man found upriver from Cooters Pond was from Montgomery

The body pulled from the Alabama River on Wednesday was that of a Montgomery man.

A body found Wednesday in the Alabama River has been identified.

Forensic tests determined that no foul play was involved, said Capt. Regina Duckett, spokeswoman for the Montgomery Police Department.

She did not release his name. A fisherman reported finding the body Wednesday morning about 9 a.m.

Members of the Alabama Marine Police and the Prattville Fire Department used a PFD boat to recover the body, which was found between Powder Magazine boat ramp and Cooters Pond.
