James Earl Russell, 38, was arrested last week and charged with discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle on Thursday, Aug. 30.

An arrest affidavit for Russell states he and the victim had been in a relationship for about two years when she attempted to "flee from the suspect."

The victim was "driving away backwards," court documents state, when Russell allegedly began shooting, hitting the victim's vehicle in the hood approximately fourteen times.

Court documents do not indicate the victim was injured. Russell was arrested Thursday, Dec. 7, and has since been released on a $15,000 bond.
