Kijuan Flowers, then 17, was charged with capital murder after 19-year-old Zhivago "Stank" Hines was shot to death in September 2016.

Montgomery police responded to the 600 block of Clinton Street after receiving a report of a person shot, according to a news release sent after the incident in 2016. Hines was found in his vehicle with life-threatening injuries, taken to a hospital and later died.

Three days after Hines' death, a 10-year-old was shot. The child's mother previously said that the shooting was not random; the bullet was intended for whoever shot and killed Hines.

A grand jury earlier this month indicted Flowers, now 20, on the capital murder charge, according to records filed Thursday. Flowers remains in the Montgomery County Jail with no bond.
