Montgomery man charged after another man sliced with box cutter

A Montgomery man is behind bars accused of slicing another man with a box cutter, according to court records.

Curtis Lee Smith, 47, was charged Monday with second-degree domestic violence and possessing a firearm with an altered identification number. 

According to Smith's charging documents, he and the victim, who were in a  relationship, were in the 800 block of Grant Road about 1 a.m. Monday at the time of the incident.

Smith allegedly cut the man leaving a 4-inch long wound across the victim's left chest, though, the injury was classified as minor, according to court records. 

A warrant was issued for Smith's arrest a couple hours after the incident.

During his arrest, Smith was found at his home in the 3400 block of Road Parks Avenue to be in possession of a chrome and black Bersa Thunder. 380 ACP with an altered serial number. Smith was subsequently charged with possession a gun with an altered ID. 

Smith remained in the Montgomery County Detention Facility with a combined $25,000 bond.
