A Montgomery teen is being held on a $300,000 cash bond after he allegedly robbed two men and a child, stole a vehicle from one of the victims and led police on a short chase.

Lequintin Townsend, 18, was charged with three counts of first-degree robbery, attempting to elude police, first-degree burglary and first-degree receiving stolen property.

According to court records, Townsend allegedly entered an apartment in the 3600 block of Gas Light Curve between 1 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. Tuesday while armed with a rifle.

Lequintin Townsend was charged with attempting to elude, first-degree burglary, receiving stolen property, and three counts of first-degree robbery.

Once inside the apartment, Townsend allegedly took gold chain necklaces, a Samsung cellphone and about $80 in cash from the three victims. He then took a 2011 GMC Terrain that belonged to one of the victims, according to court records.

Police located Townsend a short time after the robbery in the GMC in the area of Christine Elizabeth Curve at Troy Highway, less than 2 miles from the apartment where the robbery took place, according to court records.

Townsend, when signaled to stop by police, failed to do so and "fled from officers in a reckless manner approximately 4 miles," according to his charging documents.

Warrants were issued on the charges hours later and Townsend was subsequently served those six documents.

Townsend remained in the Montgomery County Detention Facility with a combined $300,00 cash bond on the robbery, burglary and theft charges. He was given an additional $1,000 bond on the attempting to elude charge.
