Quinlen McKeithen was charged with failing to register as an out of state sex offender and attempted murder.

A Montgomery teen was booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility charged with attempted murder in a September shooting.

Quinlen McKeithen, 19, was arrested by U.S. Marshals on Monday, Montgomery police Capt. Regina Duckett said.

A man suffered a life threatening gunshot wound Sept. 30 about 3:30 p.m. in the area of West Delano Avenue and South Court Street, Duckett said. McKeithen was identified as a suspect in the shooting during the investigation.

The victim was taken from the scene to a hospital for treatment, Duckett said.

After his arrest on the attempted murder charge, McKeithen was also charged with violating the community notification act for failing to register as a sex offender. Duckett said McKeithen was convicted of rape in an unrelated incident.

McKeithen is being held on a combined $67,500 bond for the two charges.
