Celebrate Autauga, Greenville, Calhoun and more 2020 seniors with this virtual yearbook

Montgomery Advertiser

After Alabama confirmed its first case of COVID-19, seniors throughout the state were unaware that their year, at least in the traditional sense, was over. Seniors missed out on their proms, their senior picnics, their senior trips, and those final months to build more classroom memories with their friends.

These seniors waited patiently to see if they'd be able to walk across the stage amid the coronavirus pandemic, hoping to celebrate their graduation with their families, friends and teachers. They've waited to see how their college plans might be altered. They simultaneously adjusted to a new reality full of face masks and six-feet-apart signs like the rest of society.

The Class of 2020 entered this world at a turbulent time in history as the United States was coming to grips with the world-changing horror of the terror attacks of September 11, 2001.  Now, these graduates are preparing to enter a new stage in in life during another society changing event: COVID-19. These are young adults who have been forced to show resilience.

The Montgomery Advertiser would like to congratulate the Class of 2020 for this achievement. The world awaits to see the many contributions you are bound to provide.
