Preston and Kendall Jimmerson

Colquitt County Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers Chairman Preston Jimmerson and his wife Kendall received a commemorative print from GFB President Gerald Long, right, in appreciation for their work on the GFB Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee. 

MACON, Ga. – Georgia Farm Bureau honored Colquitt County’s Preston and Kendall Jimmerson for their service on the GFB Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee during the organization’s annual convention on Jekyll Island Dec. 8-10.

The Jimmersons served on the GFB Young Farmer Committee the past two years. Preston Jimmerson is the Colquitt County Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers chairman.

The Jimmersons operate Moss Family Farm, growing cotton, corn, peanuts and cabbage. They have a daughter, Kate, and a son, Jake.

On the GFB committee, the Jimmersons represented the GFB 9th District, which includes Baker, Brooks, Calhoun, Colquitt, Decatur, Dougherty, Early, Grady, Miller, Mitchell, Seminole, Thomas, Tift and Worth counties.

 “We greatly appreciate the time and effort Preston and Kendall put in while serving on the Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee,” said GFB President Gerald Long. “The committee members are our next generation of leaders and we’re proud to help them develop leadership qualities that will help them as they grow in their role with GFB and with other organizations.”

Founded in 1937, the Georgia Farm Bureau Federation is the state’s largest general farm organization with 158 county chapters. As a membership-driven, nongovernmental organization, GFB serves as the voice of Georgia farmers and rural Georgia by advocating for them on legislative issues and promoting Georgia commodities. Its volunteer members also actively participate in activities that promote agriculture awareness.

GFB membership is open to the public and offers a wide variety of benefits, including insurance and discounts for health services, travel and family entertainment. Enrollment in any of the member benefits is optional and not a requirement for membership.
