Vermont State Police are investigating a half-dozen early-morning burglaries in three Vermont towns that troopers say are likely related.
Four businesses along Route 100 in Pittsfield — the Swiss Farm Market, the Original General Store, the CV Oil Company and Colton Enterprises — were broken into before dawn Monday, police said.
Troopers also responded to burglaries at the Killington Deli on U.S. Route 4 in Killington and a Sunoco station on Business Route 4 in West Rutland that occurred “in the same time frame.”
Investigators determined that among the items stolen were several hundred dollars in cash, multiple cartons and individual packages of cigarettes, a laptop and copper piping.
