The New England Collegiate Baseball League is back in action at Montpelier Recreation Field. The Vermont Mountaineers hosted Upper Valley for the second time this season on Wednesday.

In the season opener in early June, Vermont took down UV 7-1. Today’s game was scoreless heading into the bottom of the fourth inning.

The Mountaineers racked in two runs in the fourth, Matt McDermott singled that sent Corey DiLoreto to score. Vermont led 1-0. With the bases loaded Aaron Simspon drove a single to third which gave enough time for Brian Goulard to score. 2-0 Mountaineers.

A three run fifth inning was enough to pull the Nighthawks past a 2-0 deficit and take the 4-3 win after losing to the Mountaineers last Friday.
