Police have rushed to Albert Bridge Road in Battersea after they were called out to reports of a person in the water near Westminster.
Emergency services vehicles are currently on the bridge connecting Battersea with Chelsea as the hunt for the person continues.
Police were called out to Westminster Bridge at 3.53pm today, Tuesday, May 12.
Officers are joined by the national police helicopter, London Ambulance Service and a life boat.
The search for the person in the water is continuing.
A spokesperson for the police said: "Police were called to Westminster Bridge, SE1 at 3.53pm on Tuesday, May 12 following a report of a person in the water.
"Officers, the national police helicopter and London Ambulance attended.
"The lifeboat is also on scene. Searches for the person continue."
A witness told MyLondon there are currently "tons of people, police, police boats and helicopters" on Albert Bridge.
