A pedestrian has been hit by a car on Fetter Lane in Holborn at lunch time today (June 24), bringing traffic to a standstill.
Officer from City of London Police have closed Fetter Lane (near to Chancery Lane) in both directions while paramedics treated the man.
City of London Police said: "Fetter Lane and New Fetter Lane are currently closed to traffic following a collision between a car and a pedestrian. @Ldn_Ambulance are on scene. Please avoid the area if you can."
A member of the public who witnessed the aftermath said that the injured man was actually cyclist: "He got knocked off his bike by a van and hit his head on the curb around 12:10pm.
"He was being treated by medics within 20 seconds as there was a private ambulance nearby."
