The extra long bank holiday weekend is here and you probably have all these grand ideas in your head to get out and about in London.

Unfortunately public transport isn't always our friend and before you set your plans in stone make sure you are aware of all the planned closures on the London Underground and Overground that will make it slightly more difficult to get around London .

We've also got all the information you need to get to and from Notting Hill Carnival.

Our good old friend the rail replacement bus service makes a hefty comeback too - so look out below to find out when you might have to rely on it.

In fairness, the majority of Tube lines around the capital are set to be running as usual - so get out there and explore what London has to offer in the sun (we can but hope) over the long weekend.

All the closures apply over the bank holiday weekend of August 24-26 and are correct according to Transport for London (TfL) as of Friday (August 23)

London Underground

Piccadilly line

There won't be any service between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge over the entire bank holiday weekend.

Rail replacement buses will run between these stations via West Ruislip.

Metropolitan line

Bad news for people looking to travel between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge again because it is the same situation as above on the Piccadilly Line. There won't be any service on this route across the bank holiday weekend.
