Vermont has lost a former lawmaker and community leader to COVID-19.Former state representative Bernie Juskiewicz, from Cambridge, died yesterday, according to several of his former colleagues in Montpelier.Juskiewicz served on several school boards, helped found and run the Lamoille County United Way and coached several youth sports teams, according to his biography on the Vermont Legislature's website. Gov. Phil Scott released a statement, saying in part, "Although this terrible new disease took Bernie from us, the impact of his service will live on. My heart goes out to Suzan and the rest of his family during this difficult time."
