Vermont man arrested for attempted murder
A Vermont man is facing an attempted murder charge after police say he tried to stab his roommate to death.

Officials say they were called to a residence on Thorpe Avenue at approximately 5 a.m. Monday for a reported stabbing. Responding officers were met by Rodney Lesperance, 44, who directed them to a bedroom where another man was found with multiple stab wounds, according to a police report.
Police say Lesperance admitted to stabbing the man, who he said was his roommate.
The stabbing victim was given lifesaving first aid before being transferred to UVM Medical Center in Burlington. Officials have not provided additional updates on his condition.
Lesperance is being charged with attempted first-degree murder. He is being held at Northwest State Correctional Facility in lieu of $150,000 bail.
