Doors Of Verona: May 9

If this were a normal springtime, Rebecca Katsios would be barreling down a track to vault over a high bar. It’s not, but the Verona High School pole vaulter still rose to the occasion yesterday with her winning guess to the May 8 “Doors Of Verona,” which was the Verona Inn. The VI has just re-opened on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 4 to 8 p.m. for curbside pickup with a new takeout menu. Rebecca, meanwhile, earned a $25 gift certificate to  Dolce Marie, the cafe and bake shop across from Verona Park. It, too, is offering takeout and pickup, with temporary hours of Tuesday to Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The May 9 “Doors Of Verona” photo is above and, if you need to take a trip outside to refresh your visual memory of Verona business doors, you’d be well advised to bundle up. Today’s competitors will be vying for a $25 gift certificate to Aroy-D, The Thai Elephant. MyVeronaNJ.com is spending $1,000 to buy gift certificates from Verona businesses to give away during the contest.
