Every year Verona Kids Rock (VKR) loves hosting its annual bike ride to promote healthy ways of living, enjoying the great outdoors, and spreading the word of bike safety. This strong healthy habit of bike riding will hopefully become a way of life as they grow into adulthood.
This year with many restrictions due to the virus, VKR was unable to have its Spring Bike Ride, but VKR kids didn’t let that slow their roll. To spread the word about how important bike riding is to our community and the importance of wearing a bike helmet, VKR is asking residents to join its “Be A Roll Model” initiative.
Children, adolescents and young adults ages 5 to 24 have the highest rate of bicycle-related injuries. Wearing a helmet reduces the risk of serious head and brain injury by 85%. Also cycling is a great cardio workout to get your heart pumping. It’s excellent exercise to burn calories and build strength. While biking enjoy the fresh air, the beauty of trees, flowers, birds and animals of all kind.
VKR asks you to be a positive role model in whatever you do, so get on those wheels and spread the positive word.

VKR hopes that as things improve with each passing day it may be able to hold a VKR bike ride in the near future, but in the meantime, keep cycling.
