Addressing the media in Jaipur, days before the assembly elections in Rajasthan, Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the Congress is very clear on what the party’s principles are. “Our principles are an environment of peace and tolerance. Environment of intolerance generated by BJP will be finished by us,” he was quoted as saying by the news agency ANI.

Commenting on the irregularities allegedly reported during the recently held Madhya Pradesh assembly polls, the Congress MP from Guna constituency of Madhya Pradesh said, “We’ve received reports that in many strongrooms CCTV and electricity were switched off for 1-2 hours. In Sagar 48 hours after polling a bus without a number plate reaches strongroom, in it there were 60-70 EVMs, this raises many questions.”

Hinting at the recent controversial statement regarding Lord Hanuman by the Uttar Pradesh BJP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and targeting Union Minister Sushma Swaraj too, Jyotiraditya said that the Congress has always considered the development of every community and society as its primary aim. It is the party’s age-old tradition and it will abide by it. “As far as Sushma ji making statements is concerned, she should ask Yogi Adityanath about his statements in Rajasthan and she'll get answer right there”, he quipped.

The legislative assembly elections in Rajasthan are scheduled to be held on December 7. The Madhya Pradesh MP is on a two-day visit to Rajasthan where he will campaign in support of the Congress candidates.
