RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - The fall edition of Richmond Restaurant Week has started and will run through Oct. 27.

“We’re very excited. This is the second year that Bar Solita is doing it,” said General Manager at Bar Solita, Cameron Jones.

The idea behind the week is “dining local for a cause.”

“It’s a week where we encourage people to come out to maybe an old favorite restaurant or a restaurant you haven’t tried before,” said executive chef of RVA hospitality restaurant group, Alex Enggist.

You can get a three-course meal from 40 participating restaurants for under $30 a person.

One of the entries that will be featured this week only at Bar Solita is the lobster mac and cheese.

“We have vegan options, gluten-free options, vegetarian options," said Jones. "We are Mediterranean so we do offer a bunch of other cities and countries [cuisines].”

For every meal purchased, $4.19 will be donated per meal to Feed More.

“With $1 we can provide close to four meals, so it is a very beneficial...week to use when you think about all the food coming in,” said Community events manager for Feed More, Christy Dalton.

“It’s a great feeling to know that just doing what I do every day can help even more people than just the people who come here to eat,” said Enggist.

The event only happens twice a year, so business owners encourage you to come out while the event lasts.

“You can bring a date and you’re going to pay less than 100 bucks,” said Enggist.

Earlier this year, $66,916.55 was raised for Feed More to help hunger relief efforts during the spring Restaurant Week.
