Fire causes 'extensive damage' on Verona home, no word on injuries

Multiple fire departments responded to a house fire in Verona Tuesday evening.

A fire began at a residence on the 7000 block of Paulson Road at 4:27 p.m., according to Dane County Communications.

The fire was reported to be significant. Originally an injured was reported but not confirmed, according to authorities.

Verona Fire Department says the residents will not be able to return to their home. It is unclear how many people lived in the single-family home.

The Verona Fire Department is responding to the expanding incident along with Fitchburg, Monona, Middleton, Stoughton, Oregon and Mt. Horeb, McFarland, Maple Bluff, Cross Plains, Town of Madison and Belleville Fire Departments.

There are no reports of injuries at this time, according to Dane County Communicatons.
