An early-morning fire destroyed a house in the Village of Mazomanie.
A Dane County Sheriff says the fire happened around 3:05 a.m. on Saturday. When fire fighters arrived to the scene, flames and heavy smoke were visible. The residents of 24r W. High Street and their pet were found safely out of the building.
Officials say putting out the fire has been difficult. The estimated value of the home is about $140,000 and is considered a total loss.
The investigation is still going for what caused the fire, but it doesn't seem to be suspicious and likely started in the kitchen.
