The intersection of Swanton Road and Milwaukee Street was shut down temporarily after a vehicle crash in Madison on Friday morning.

A 71-year-old woman attempted to make a wide right-turn after being stopped, and when she tried to correct she ended up travelling over the curb and colliding with a power pole at 10:48 a.m., according to Madison Police Chief Mike Koval's blog.

The power pole snapped in half and the intersection was shut down. MG&E responded and no one was injured.

The driver was cited for operating without a license and deviating from a lane, according to the blog post.
