Protests supporting Black Lives Matter continued in Madison for a fourth consecutive day, but this time it headed down the Beltline.

A caravan of dozens of cars decorated with Black Lives Matter signs led the way for Tuesday's protest, which eventually split off into two groups.

Those on foot marched down Doty Street and around John Nolan Drive, briefly stopping at the intersection of Northshore, like they did Monday, when they blocked to road for several hours.

Other demonstrators, however, got into their cars and headed down the Beltline. Authorities say they held up traffic for a few hours during the afternoon as they slowly wound their way to the Gammon Road interchange.

"Our voices weren't heard and they haven't been heard for 400 years since back in the day, and I think it's fine that stuff is happening, but silence can't be a thing anymore, so we're getting our voices heard," said protester Kyianna Baker.

Officers tracked their progress and closed the interchanges as they progress in an effort to keep traffic flowing.
