A meteor soaring over Washington D.C. was captured on dashcam.
A motorist driving from Dulles Airport captured the glowing orb as it floated through the night sky.
The American Meteor Society had 325 reports of the event come in from Washington D.C. and eleven other states including Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.
The group claimed the meteor was brighter than Venus.
Meteors fall into the earth's atmosphere at around 110,000 miles an hour.
Only 25 percent of them have ionized gas trails that make a visible tail.
