HEATH, OH (WCMH) — The general manager of a radio station in Newark was killed in a crash in Heath, yesterday. 

According to the Heath Police Department, at about 4:20pm, Tuesday, emergency crews were called to a crash near the entrance to Park Lanes Bowling Alley on Hopewell Drive. 

When crews arrived on scene they found a vehicle upside down in a ditch, with John T. Swank, 73, of Heath, inside it.

Swank was pronounced dead at the scene. 

A statement on Newark radio station WNKO Kool 101.7 FM’s website says that Swank was the general manager of the station. 

“The radio station staff is shocked, and deeply saddened, with loss of our friend, and mentor.

Tom was known as a tough-minded, but fair man, who supported numerous charitable organizations, in Licking County.

His untimely death will be felt by many in our community and we ask for prayers for his family and the staff here at the radio station.
