COLUMBUS (WCMH) — One person is dead after a stabbing in east Columbus Monday evening.

According to Columbus Division of Police, officers responded to a report of a possible shooting on the 300 block of Stoddart Avenue just after 10:15 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found one man lying on the ground, suffering from a serious chest wound.

Dispatchers say the victim was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. He passed away from his injuries.

Police identified the suspect Tuesday as Gregory Alan Huish. Huish is accused of stabbing the victim after the two argued.

Police say the suspect and victim lived together at the home where the incident occurred.

This is the 66th homicide in Columbus for 2019.
