SWAT officers stormed an apartment in southwest suburban Montgomery Tuesday morning, rescuing an infant and arresting a man wanted in connection with a murder in Michigan, authorities said.
Montgomery police, Kane County Sheriff’s deputies and the Kane County SWAT team were called to the scene of an incident around 5:30 a.m. in the 700 block of Oakton Drive.
According to the Kane County Sheriff's office, a domestic call was made to Montgomery police before authorities learned a wanted suspect may be inside.
The home belongs to a relative of Scott Jones, who was named in an arrest warrant out of Kalamazoo following the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old man in September. Jones faces charges of open murder, felony firearm offenses and possession of a firearm by a felon in connection with the shooting.
After the initial domestic call, Montgomery police and US Marshalls then called in Kane County Sheriff's officers and SWAT, the sheriff's office reported. Numerous streets were closed near the Victoria apartment complex and residents were urged to avoid the area.
During the incident, three adults and two kids left the home, but Jones and an infant girl remained inside, police said.
After hours at the scene, SWAT eventually entered the house and took Jones into custody. The baby was found asleep and uninjured inside the home, police said.

Jones was taken to the Kane County Adult Justice Center where he will await extradition to Michigan, the sheriff's office said.
