Newark man charged after alleged 100 grams of meth possession

NEWARK - The following people appeared before Licking County Common Pleas Court Magistrate Mattie Klein for bond hearings. The cases may be reviewed by a grand jury for possible indictment and additional charges.

Brandon T. Cunningham, 33, of 28 Woodcliff Dr., Columbus, was charged with one count of failure to comply with order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony.

On Nov. 4, Cunningham was suspected of leading police on a chase through Pataskala, reaching speeds up to 86 mph, according to a statement of facts.

Klein set bond at $35,000.

Josef L. Franklin, 36, of 290 National Dr., Apartment C, Newark, was charged with one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a second-degree felony.

On Nov. 4, Franklin was suspected of having 100 grams of methamphetamine, according to a statement of facts.

Klein set bond at $50,000.

John E. David Jr., 30, of 510 Hibbs Road, Lockbourne, was charged with domestic violence, a third-degree felony.

On Nov. 2, David was suspected of placing a woman into a headlock and to the ground, according to a statement of facts.

Klein set bond at $25,000.

Patrick S. Douglas, 40, of 16421 Lemold Shore Dr. NE, Poulsbo, Washington, was charged with one count of aggravated trafficking in drugs, a second-degree felony.

On Nov. 5, Douglas was suspected of selling two pounds of marijuana and one pound of psilocyn to a confidential informant working with the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force, according to a statement of facts.

Klein set bond at $100,000.

David L. Priest, 48, of 16267 McKee Hill Road, Frazeysburg, was charged with one count of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a fourth-degree felony.

On Nov. 5, Priest was suspected of drinking and driving after his 2008 Nissan Versa crashed at the intersection of Ohio 586 and Licking Valley Road in Perry Township, according to a statement of facts.

Klein set bond at $20,000.

Johnathon A. Llewellyn, 20, of 445 Henderson Ave., Apartment B, Newark, was charged with one count of domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony.

On Nov. 7, Llewellyn was suspected of assaulting his girlfriend by placing his hands around her neck and choking her, according to a statement of facts.

Klein set bond at $25,000.
