One dead, one hospitalized after reported Deo Drive stabbing in Newark

One person is dead and another is injured after a reported stabbing in a shopping complex on the 200 block of Deo Drive in Newark.

Police Chief Barry Connell confirmed one fatality from a reported stabbing at 253 Deo Drive. Police were called for the stabbing at roughly 4:17 p.m. Monday.

Sgt. Clint Eskins said the deceased was a male with stabbing injuries. Another male with "serious" stabbing injuries has been taken to Licking Memorial Hospital.

Names of the individuals have not yet been released by police.

The Indian Valley Plaza shopping complex includes Level 33 Graphics and J Winston Salon, and is near the old Kroger store.
