NEWARK - Bond was set at $1 million for a Columbus man accused of shooting into a Newark home.

Ibn A. Stanley, 32, of Columbus, was arrested Thursday night and charged with one count of attempted murder, a first-degree felony.

According to Newark police, Stanley went to a home in the first block of Wilwood Ave. on Wednesday. The victim reported hearing his dog bark in the yard and going onto an enclosed porch to see what was happening.

Police say the victim reported he saw Stanley, who he knew as a previous co-worker, and the victim said he informed Stanley he was there.

"At that point, the defendant pointed a gun at the victim and fired off six shots," court records state.

Police said they located those bullets in the door jam around where the victim was standing.

Stanley allegedly claimed he shot toward the victim because he believed the victim had been committing theft offenses and blaming Stanley for them.

According to police, no injuries were reported.

The incident remains under investigation.
