Heavy rains bring respite for Delhiites

Delhiites, after days of dry spell in the National Capital Region received a little relief as heavy rains, on Monday, hit parts of the National Capital.

With the earlier prediction of light showers on Monday, by the Indian Meteorological Department, an official said, “The sky will remain generally cloudy with light rain or drizzle expected. The city is likely to receive light rain till Thursday.”

An official of Skymet, a private weather forecasting agency was quoted as saying by news agency IANS, “Winds over Delhi and NCR have changed to easterly. We expect the weather to change and rains will commence by today evening. Intensity will increase gradually.”

The IMD has predicted that the National Capital is likely to be hit by the dry spell again around July 20 and 22 but a good rainfall is also expected on July 24 and 25 in Delhi and Northwest India.
