Rhode Island congressmen to meet with business leaders

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Rhode Island congressmen are meeting with business and community leaders to discuss issues facing the local business community and current events in Washington.

The Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce will host a breakfast with Rhode Island's Congressional delegation on Monday at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick.

About 400 business and civic leaders are expected to attend to hear from U.S. Sens. Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse and U.S. Reps. Jim Langevin and David Cicilline, who are all Democrats.

The chamber will discuss the results of a member survey about the current business environment and other related national issues.

The delegation will be asked to weigh in on the results, and on other topics impacting businesses.

Chamber President Laurie White and Barbara Cottam, of Citizens Bank, plan to speak.
