A Springfield man has been accused of sexually abusing three children all under the age of 7.

Steven Michael Anderson, 29, was charged Thursday with eight felonies, including child molestation, statutory sodomy and enticement of a child.

According to a probable cause statement, law enforcement became involved in the case in April when a 5-year-old girl reported that Anderson had touched her genitals with his hand and a child's toy.

Another child, who was 6 years old, also reported being repeatedly sexually abused by Anderson, according to the statement.

The girl also allegedly said Anderson had made her watch pornography with him.

One of the children also accused Anderson of inappropriately touching a 3-year-old.

The statement says law enforcement interviewed Anderson in May, and he initially denied touching the children in a sexual way but then said he did once force a child to perform a sexual act as a form of punishment.

Online records indicate a warrant has been issued for Anderson's arrest, and he will be held without bond.

The felony charges carry possible life sentences.

Anderson does not have an attorney listed for this case.
