A Springfield man is facing a slew of felony charges after police say his aggressive pursuit of women went too far.

Justin Heydt, 41, was charged Friday with nine counts of harassment for acts involving nine different women.

According to court documents, the women did not know Heydt and many of them were Realtors whom he possibly found through internet searches.

One woman allegedly said Heydt messaged her on Facebook with a photo of a penis and then called her incessantly at work — 143 times in less than an hour.

Another Springfield woman said Heydt also called her numerous times at work and left her a vulgar voicemail conveying he wanted to have sex with her. The woman told police she was scared to go out because she did not know what Heydt's intentions might be, according to court documents.

Another person said Heydt contacted numerous women at her business, telling them they were pretty, asking them to send him photos and trying to talk to them at 4 a.m. One woman was so frightened by Heydt's actions that she installed surveillance cameras around her home, according to court documents.

Court documents say Heydt was stopped by Springfield police last week on Commercial Street after reports that he had been looking into several businesses and making lewd comments to female employees.

When police interviewed Heydt, court documents say he denied contacting the nine women and he also told the detective he had been diagnosed with paranoia and schizophrenia.

In a bond recommendation document, prosecutors wrote that Heydt has demonstrated a "disturbing pattern of harassing and sexual behavior that is only escalating."

Heydt has prior convictions for tampering with a judicial officer and aggravated stalking, so the first-degree harassment charges in this case each carry possible 7-year sentences.

Heydt is being held in the Greene County Jail on $25,000 bond and does not have an attorney listed for this case.
