Springfield man claims meth made him attracted to kids, police say

A Springfield man who is facing child porn charges allegedly told police using meth led to him developing a sexual interest in children.
Henry Shockley, 30, was charged Monday with seven counts of possessing child porn.
A probable cause statement in the case says one of the images in Shockley's photo album showed a teenage girl having sex with a dog.
The statement says employees at the website Tumblr came across some possible child porn last year that was being uploaded to their servers by a user named "bigevilpervert0666" from an IP address in Springfield.
Police say they later identified Shockley as the man behind that Tumblr account.
When police searched Shockley's Springfield home in January, the statement says they found a photo album that contained the photo of the girl and the dog. Police also searched a phone and tablet they believe Shockley was using, and they found several images and videos of child porn.

Police also found hundreds of images of child erotica and as well as hundreds of photos of bestiality on the devices, according to the statement.
The statement says police interviewed Shockley at the jail in Benton County, Arkansas, after he was arrested for a separate matter related to threatening a girl on the internet.
During the interview, the statement says Shockley admitted to running the Tumblr account and also said he viewed child porn on the phone and tablet.
Shockley allegedly told police he became sexually interested in children in 2018 when he was a heavy meth user. Shockley said it was merely "a phase" and he was no longer sexually attracted to children.
Shockley allegedly said all of his child porn consumption was a result of the meth use and he is fine when not on meth, according to the statement.
Online records indicate prosecutors have requested a warrant for Shockley's arrest. He does not have an attorney listed for this case.
The child porn charges carry possible 15-year prison sentences.
