Two more men have been sentenced to prison in a theft that left hundreds of stolen guns on the street.

Raynord Hunt, 36, and Keith Lowe, 29, both of Dallas, were sentenced Friday. Hunt was sentenced to eight years and four months in prison, while Lowe was sentenced to six years in prison.

According to court documents, several men stole 600 handguns and 54 shotguns from UPS trailers in Springfield in October 2017.

The firearms were in the process of being shipped to Bass Pro Shops in Springfield.

Prosecutors say the men hot-wired two truck-tractors and use them to push and pull various trailers around the lot, allowing them access to the trailer doors.

Four others were sentenced in May, including Frank McGriston, 35, of Dallas; Derrick White, 33, of Dallas; Quinton Haywood, 27, of Glenn Heights, Texas; and Eric White, 28, of Arlington, Texas.

During the May sentencing hearings, prosecutors revealed that only 73 of the 654 firearms had been recovered.

At one of those sentencing hearings, Assistant U.S. Attorney James Kelleher said the vast majority of the guns are in "the stream of commerce" and some will likely be used for violent crimes.
