Sky Zone trampoline park in Springfield now closed

Springfield-area resident Max Rehwald, 8, enjoys Sky Zone on Kansas Expressway on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019. The "wall-to-wall trampoline park" closed a few days later.

Sky Zone's five-year run in Springfield has ended.

The Sky Zone "wall-to-wall trampoline park" located at 2765 S. Kansas Expressway is now closed, according to information on the Sky Zone website.

The Los Angeles-based company created the world’s first wall-to-wall trampoline park in 2004, according to the site. News-Leader archives show Sky Zone opened in the Queen City in late 2014.

News-Leader calls to Sky Zone headquarters and to Deny Gravity, LLC, the company that ran the Springfield franchise, were not immediately returned.

In mid-November, a Greene County judge ordered a default judgment against Deny Gravity, stating that the company had failed to respond to a lawsuit from landlord Kansas Plaza I LLC filed earlier this year.

On Dec. 6, the court ordered a garnishment against Deny Gravity for more than $121,000.

The Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park on Kansas Expressway has closed.

Around 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sky Zone confirmed the closure on social media.

The Facebook status stated, "We are in the process of reaching out to every guest that had a party booked, all of our pass holders, and all of our members to offer refunds on these things. We really appreciate all of our guests over the years and will truly miss providing the community with a safe and fun place to play."

Folks with questions were asked to send them to szspringfield@skyzone.com.

"ATTENTION FAMILIES!," Discovery Center posted. If you had a birthday party planned for next weekend or anytime in the future, we can offer you a FREE room and only $5 per person to play in the Center. We’ll also honor admission passes bought at Sky Zone specifically for this weekend, too."
