The Springfield-Greene County Health Department announced six confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Thursday evening.

None of the new cases are clients of the Great Clips located at 1864 S. Glenstone Ave., where two hairstylists recently tested positive for the virus. Testing has been offered to close contacts of those cases. The health department said it has received 42 results from 42 of those clients so far and all have come back negative.

More information will be released on Friday.

The health department also announced a number of several potential exposures:

  • Monday, May 18: Walmart Supercenter at 1150 U.S. 60 in Republic between 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. (symptomatic, not masked)
  • Thursday, May 21: Walmart Supercenter at 2021 E. Independence St. around 6 p.m.  (infectious, not masked)
  • Friday, May 22: Walmart Supercenter at 1150 U.S. 60 in Republic around 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. (infectious, not masked)
  • Saturday, May 23: Burlington at 3860 W. Washita St. between 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. (infectious, not masked)
  • Sunday, May 24: Aldi at 421 E. Battlefield Road around 1 p.m. (symptomatic, not masked)
  • Sunday, May 24: Target at 1825 E. Primrose  St. around 5 p.m. (infectious, not masked)

The individuals visited the locations prior to being diagnosed, according to the health department.

The health department, again, advised that if a person is feeling sick, they should stay home. Anyone who was at the locations at the listed dates is considered at low risk for contracting COVID-19 but should monitor fosymptoms. There is no need to self-quarantine unless symptoms develop.
