Here's who won Missouri's primary election Tuesday, Aug. 4

Polls are closed and ballots are in, with 78 of 79 Greene County precincts counted. (Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller tweeted late Tuesday, Aug. 4, that the remaining precinct, with votes from military and overseas personnel, will be uploaded early next week.) Here are the primary election results for Missouri races and ballot issues.

Ballot issues

Amendment 2 — Medicaid expansion

With 3,545 of 3,575 statewide precincts counted as of 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, the amendment to the state constitution to provide for Medicaid expansion under Obamacare passed.

  • In favor: 661,703 votes (52.98%)
  • Opposed: 587,160 votes (47%)

Question 1 — Springfield payday lending

More than 56 percent of voters on Tuesday backed a proposal to impose a $5,000 annual fee on short-term lenders

  • In favor: 14,718 votes (56.68%)
  • Opposed: 11,250 votes (43.32%)

Governor

With 3,471 of 3,575 precincts reported at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, incumbent Gov. Mike Parson advanced to the general election.
