Missouri State introduced Amaka Agugua-Hamilton as its next women's basketball coach on Wednesday afternoon.

The Board of Governors unanimously approved the new head coach early Wednesday morning after a national search.

Agugua-Hamilton signed a five-year contract that will run through April 16, 2024, with a base salary of $240,000.

Additional achievement incentives for NCAA and WNIT appearances, conference championships, coaching honors, attendance average and APR standards are also included in the agreement.

MORE ON THE NEW LADY BEARS COACH

Amaka Agugua-Hamilton speaks for the first time as the Missouri State Lady Bears head coach during a press conference introducing her on Wednesday, April 17, 2019.

In comparison, former Lady Bears head coach Kellie Harper was making $246,640 annually at Missouri State before she was hired away by Tennessee. She initially was paid $145,000 annually, plus $60,000 for radio and television shows, when hired in 2013.

At Tennessee, Harper will make $750,000 annually over a five-year deal.

As a part of Agugua-Hamilton's duties, she will participate in a television show along with a radio show.

Additional entitlements include moving expenses and temporary housing (up to three months) upon her relocation to Springfield.

Agugua-Hamilton and her family will receive a social membership to the Highland Springs Country Club. The university will also furnish Agugua-Hamilton with the use of an automobile. If an automobile isn't available, the university will provide Agugua-Hamilton with $500 per month and will pay and reimburse her for all insurance and maintenance costs.

The new head coach is entitled to 12 tickets to each home basketball and all tournament games at no cost to her. Family is also permitted to travel with her to all basketball games the Lady Bears compete in.

If fired by the university, Agugua-Hamilton will receive payment for the number of months remaining on her contract. She is set to make $20,000 per month.
