Albany police are searching for a suspect in an attempted abduction.

Around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said a man tried to force a 16 year old into an SUV on the 400-block of Sheridan Avenue.

The victim said she was walking on Central Avenue when the suspect approached her on the sidewalk. When she said she wasn’t interested in talking, he walked away.

Police said the man returned and tried to force the girl into a dark colored SUV. She was able to get away but cut her mouth in the altercation.

The suspect is described as a black man around 23 years old wearing a dark colored sweatshirt and blue jeans.
