ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A man has died after being shot in the torso on 2nd Street near Judson Street.

Police responded to reports of shooting on 2nd Street between Judson Street and North Lake Avenue around 10:10 p.m. Officers found a man with gunshot wounds to the torso. Police have identified the victim as 20-year-old Kenneth Love of Albany.

He was taken to Albany Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, Albany Police spokesman Steve Smith said.

This is the the first gun-related homicide of the year in Albany.

The investigation remains ongoing. Police have not yet released the victim’s identity pending notification of his family.
