COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Health reported 442 new cases of novel coronavirus Wednesday afternoon, which is a slight uptick from Tuesday's relatively low number of cases, but lower than the 21-day average of 527.
Ohio now has a total of 36,792 reported cases of COVID-19.
Additionally, 41 new deaths were reported Wednesday. That number is higher than the 21-day average of 39.
The 21-day hospitalization trend dropped with 75 new hospitalizations being reported, which is less than the the 21-day trend of 78 cases. ICU admissions dropped slightly with 21 admissions reported Wednesday. The 21-day trend sits at 17 admissions.
New cases in Cuyahoga County rose Wednesday with 88 cases reported versus Tuesday's 73 new cases.
The age range of Ohioans who have or have had coronavirus are between the ages of less than one to 109 years old. The median age of patients sits at 49 years old. Fifteen percent of the state’s total cases are health care workers, according to ODH.
It should be noted that while day to day cases numbers may fluctuate up and down, state health officials said that cases will continue a gradual rise as more testing becomes available.
So far, 423,521 Ohioans have been tested out of the state’s population of more than 11 million, the ODH reported.
The City of Cleveland reported 24 new cases, bringing their total to 1,659.
