UPDATE: A source initially confirmed to News 5 that wanted fugitive Gianni Gray was captured in Texas. The U.S. Marshals Service have since told News 5 that the man captured in Texas was not Gray.
A nationwide manhunt for a fugitive who fled from Florida to Ohio and then allegedly killed two people while being hunted by police is still ongoing after a source initially confirmed he was captured in Texas. It was later determined that the man captured in Texas was not Gray.
The U.S. Marshals said the man who was taken into custody used a similar alias and date of birth that Gray was known to use.
Gianni A. Gray was originally wanted in Orange County Florida for second-degree attempted murder.
According to authorities, Gray fled to Ohio last July. While in the Cleveland area, Gray allegedly shot and killed Malachia Stewart and Andre Williams while they sat in a car.

Gray was on parole during the time of the shooting.
Police said both of the victims had gunshot wounds to their heads and bodies.
A third victim, a 24-year-old woman, was also injured in the shooting. She was grazed by a bullet in the stomach while she was stopped at the off-ramp.

After the Ohio shootings, Gray fled to Detroit where he made the city’s Most Wanted list. The U.S. Marshals called Gray one of the most “dangerous men” to ever be featured on Detroit’s list.

Court records show Gray has a long criminal history. He's been in-and-out of jail and prison since he was 18 years old. Many of the charges involve drugs and weapons. He was also accused, but not convicted of attempted murder and arson.
