A GLOBAL pizza chain will open its third outlet in Carlisle - creating 15 jobs in the new year.

Domino's, which has outlets on London Road and Old Raffles Parade, is opening on Kingstown Road.

Commenting on the opening of the new Carlisle, Josie Clarke, a spokeswoman for Domino’s, said: “We are very much looking forward to bringing fresh, oven-baked pizza to homes in Carlisle when our new store on Kingstown Road opens in the new year.

"The new store will create 15 jobs for local people with a full team of trainee managers, pizza makers, customer service representatives and delivery experts, who will be ready to serve delicious, handmade pizzas to residents when our doors open in the coming weeks.”

The site, which used to be home to Carphone Warehouse, is next door to Majestic Wine.

Domino's also has outlets on London Road and Old Raffles Parade in Carlisle.

The pizza giants opened their first UK store in Luton in 1985. Twenty years later they were operating from 400 stores throughout the UK.

Today, they operate from more than 900 stores across the UK and in addition have stores in Germany and Switzerland.

Meanwhile, further up the road Grahams newsagents shop is set to close.

The shop, opposite Kingstown Broadway, is up for lease with chartered surveyors Walton Goodland.
