ENGINGEERS from Northern Gas Networks (NGN) have attended the scene of a fire in Stanwix, Carlisle.

The teams, who were called out by the fire service about 1.40pm this afternoon to support them at Eden Place.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are underway.

Fire crews from Carlisle East and West were called to the area shortly before 1.30pm, to a report of a fire at an understairs cupboard at a home.

Firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish the flames and a ventilator to air our the property, but left the scene at 3pm.

No injuries were reported from the incident.
