People of all colours, faiths and backgrounds came together to send a strong message that intolerance has no place in society.
A vigil was held in Carlisle city centre today to remember the 50 victims who were killed after a white supremacist gunned down 50 worshippers at two mosques in Christchurch in New Zealand.
The event held in Carlisle was aimed at sending a message that it stands together against all forms of racism and discrimination.
Organised by AWAZ Cumbria, the imam of Carlisle Syed Ali and the Canon Missioner of Carlisle Cathedral, Michael Manley.
Among the attendees were the leader of Carlisle City Council, Colin Glover; the mayor of Carlisle, Jessica Riddle; and the leader of Cumbria County Council, Stewart Young.
