A Carlisle teenager is critically ill in hospital after an assault last night.
An 18-year-old-man was taken to The Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle, just after 7 pm.
The teenager was close to Central Avenue, Carlisle when the assault happened.
A spokesman for the police said: "The 18-year-old is in a critical but stable condition.
“Officers would like to speak with the owner and occupants of a blue Ford Fiesta which was in the area at the time.”
